I remember summers as lazy days spent around the backyard pool or in the shade of the mulberry and golden rain trees, the delicious smells of hamburgers or chicken on the barbecue, and/or long, long bicycle rides (later motorcycle) that would carry me into the sunburnt hills of southern California. About the middle of July, though, I began missing school, with its routine and a definite something-to-do. Thinking about this, I have decided that July’s Word of the Month should be doldrums. If you’re looking for something to do, why not post a poem in the comments below that deals with this theme or concept. Most of all, have fun with it.
Give me a breeze.
