Hi, everyone! I read a review of THE RAIN WIZARD this morning that referred to me as “the renowned author” blah blah blah. I laughed out loud. While I will accept that moniker proudly, I also admit to assuming they were writing about Bruce Hale or David Lubar or Gail Jarrow. I mean, jeez, that’s heady stuff. If I am renowned, it’s probably because of the intense research I put into each one of my nonfiction books. (Admittedly, I also do research for my fiction, but it is NOWHERE AS INTENSE.) For budding nonfiction authors out there, remember to dig a little deeper, look a little closer. Doing so will undoubtedly lead to contradictions, but it’s well worth the effort both in terms of 1) narrative, but also 2) snoop-factor. And who doesn’t like to snoop?
